The Fourth of July is a time of great significance as we come together to commemorate and celebrate our nation’s independence. And what better place to embrace the patriotic spirit than at the American Village?

Independence Day at the American Village has more than 40 patriotic activities that will bring joy and excitement to your day. You can experience historical reenactments, educational exhibits, engaging games, and immersive experiences. It’s a great opportunity to gather your family and friends, immerse yourselves in the festivities, and create lasting memories while honoring the principles that our nation was founded on.

 

Activities All Day

There are plenty of activities to enjoy throughout the day at the Independence Day celebration at the American Village. You can immerse yourself in the world of music and dance performances that will be taking place. Children can get hands-on with a variety of activities at this event, such as cornhole toss, hula hoops, Jenga, sidewalk chalk art, and a farm animal petting area. ​​A designated area will also feature American artisans showcasing and selling their handcrafted products.

History enthusiasts will have the opportunity to meet and interact with notable figures from the past, including George and Martha Washington, John and Abigail Adams, Alexander and Eliza Hamilton, Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and Samuel Adams. For those interested in reliving pivotal moments, there will be a reenactment of the Battle of Concord Bridge.

Finally, as the day draws to a close, prepare to be amazed by the main event — a spectacular fireworks display lighting up the evening sky.

 

Food & Drinks To Celebrate

You can’t celebrate Independence Day without good food. You’ll find a diverse selection of food trucks stationed on-site, ready to serve up all your favorite Fourth of July foods. There will be something to please everyone. Additionally, you can quench your thirst with a range of refreshing beverages available at the American Village’s concession stand. So, whether you’re craving traditional American fare or looking to try something new, you’ll have plenty of delicious options to enjoy at this event.

 

Event Details

There is a small admission fee to the American Village Independence Day Celebration, but with all the perks that come with the celebration, it is totally worth it. Admission is $5 per person. Veterans, active military, and children ages 4 and under are free.

Gates open at 11:00 a.m. Activities, reenactments, and food trucks will be available from 11:30 a.m. through the evening fireworks around 9:00 p.m.

The American Village is located at 3727 Highway 119, Montevallo, AL 35115. From Birmingham, take Highway 65 South and take Exit 234.
