First Friday – Independence Day Fireworks in Calera

The Calera Main Street has once again kicked off its First Friday festivals, held each Friday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm throughout the summer in the Calera Courtyard. Enjoy delicious treats from local food trucks as you browse the gifts and creations of local vendors and artists. Aimed at helping people discover historic downtown Calera and the shops and vendors located there, this festival is always fun for everyone in the whole family. Join the fun for a special First Friday that will actually be held on a Thursday—July 4. TNT Fireworks will be partnering to light up the night sky with a special fireworks celebration to end the event. You don’t want to miss this one!
Liberty Day in Columbiana

This event began all the way back in 1986, and it was originally intended as a celebration of the Statue of Liberty. Today, it has evolved into a two-day celebration with fun for the whole family. Arts, crafts, food, pageants, and concerts from national headliners are just some of the fun you will enjoy at Liberty Day. Plus, what would a 4th of July celebration be without fireworks? A phenomenal fireworks show on Saturday brings a dramatic close to the Liberty Day festival. This event is free to the public and includes free parking, so head out to Columbiana and enjoy this awesome festival!
Chelsea’s Big Kaboom

Get ready for Chelsea’s biggest event of the year: ChelseaFest and the Big KaBoom! This city-wide 4th of July celebration, held annually on the last Saturday before the 4th of July, is a premier event that brings the entire community together. ChelseaFest and the Big KaBoom feature fantastic live music on the main stage, an array of delicious food from numerous food trucks, and, of course, one of Alabama’s largest and most spectacular fireworks shows. It’s a night filled with fun, food, and festivities, making it a must-attend celebration for residents and visitors alike. City of Alabaster’s Independence Day Fireworks

Independence Day would not be complete without the chance to enjoy a spectacular fireworks show! This event kicks off at 6 p.m. with a full schedule of activities for the whole family to enjoy. There will be food trucks, bounce houses, Knockerball, & a visit from the Coca Cola Music Truck! The firework show will begin at 9 p.m. and can be viewed from all parking areas and open meadows at Thompson High School.
Peavine Falls Run at Oak Mountain State Park

The annual Peavine Falls run has become a tradition at Oak Mountain State Park on the 4th of July. This event is an 8.2-mile trail run through some of the most beautiful scenery in central Alabama, and it is a great way to enjoy Shelby County outdoors in the summer. Stay away from the large crowds at some of the other races held around the Fourth of July, and come join just a few hundred participants in this amazing event. This race is all about fun and connecting with fellow participants, so you are bound to have a great time!

Helena’s Old Town Live Series is taking on a patriotic spin for their “Celebrate America” performance from Drivin’ N’ Cryin’, Bloodkin, and Telluride. The gates open at 2 p.m. and wrap up around 10 p.m. after their dazzling firework show. Bring your lawn chair and be ready to enjoy some great music and great times in the heart of Helena!
Independence Day at The American Village

Celebrate Independence Day at American Village with a day packed with fun activities! On July 4th, enjoy historical reenactments, meet figures like George Washington, and watch a reenactment of the Battle of Concord Bridge. Kids can play games like cornhole and hula hoops, and there will be music, dance performances, and a farm animal petting area. As night falls, enjoy a spectacular fireworks display.
There will be a variety of food trucks and drinks available. Admission is $5 per person, free for veterans, active military, and children under 4.
