Get ready for smoky flavors and friendly rivalry at Columbiana’s annual backyard barbecue competition. Teams fire up their grills to battle for bragging rights, and guests are treated to a feast of delicious tastes, music, and community spirit-all in honor of Mike Gannon.
Mayhem on the Mountain is Alabama’s largest CrossFit competition, set against the stunning backdrop of Oak Mountain State Park. On October 11–12, 2025, individuals and teams will go head-to-head in five intense events over two action-packed days. With a fierce competitive spirit, an electric atmosphere, and a beautiful outdoor setting, this is a weekend of fitness and community you won’t want to miss.
Join Columbiana Main Street for a Witches Ride! Dust off your brooms (or your bicycle or golf cart) and get ready for a great time! This year there will even be door prize drawings to add to the fun!
Step back in time at the historic Shelby Iron Works. This family-friendly fall festival features blacksmithing demos, sourghum processing, crafts, vendors, kids’ activities, and plenty of good food. History and autumn charm come together for a day you won’t want to miss.

While this is a scary event, it is still kid-friendly with no contact actors and spooky vibes only. Food trucks will be available on site and admission is only $10 with cash! Card users pay $11.

Downtown Calera is going full Western this fall with the Calera Stampede PCA Rodeo, happening October 17–18! It’s shaping up to be our biggest event yet—and we’d love to see you there. Both Friday and Saturday nights feature professional rodeo action, produced by 3R Rodeo and sanctioned by the Professional Cowboy Association. Gates open at 5 PM, Mutton Bustin’ kicks off at 6:30 PM, and the main rodeo starts at 7:30 PM. Come early to check out the Calera Corral with food trucks, western gear, and specialty vendors—open inside the rodeo grounds. But the fun doesn’t stop there—Saturday is packed with activities for the whole family. It starts at 10 AM with a parade through historic downtown, followed by an all-day Main Street Festival. Enjoy live music, local food and craft vendors, western-themed games and activities for kids, and a great small-town vibe. The festival wraps up at 4 PM—just in time to get ready for another exciting night of rodeo action.
The Oak Ass Endurance Race is back—this time with a brand-new course and even bigger stakes as the NUE Series Championship. The updated route will cover approximately 50 miles, with options to complete one or two laps depending on your race category. As the final showdown in The Vicious Cycle Race Series, this event promises a tough, rewarding ride and a fierce finish to an epic season. Get ready to grind it out and earn your place in the series finale.
