Through the dark night, the North Pole Express makes its way by starlight to the top of the world. On the way, you'll listen to a whimsical Christmas story, sing your favorite holiday carols, and watch out the windows for the bright lights of the North Pole to appear. Departure times are 5:00, 6:30, and 8:00 pm.
Start off the Christmas season with lots of cheer at Columbiana's Christmas Parade. Enjoy this and many other holiday events in our area. This family friendly parade is a great way to enjoy Christmas activities near Birmingham. There will be magical snow in Old Mill Square Park and even a visit from Santa and Mrs. Clause! Get ready for lots of free Christmas fun!
‘Tis the season to be jolly! Get your tickets and bring the whole family to celebrate the holiday together with a 30-minute daytime ride on the seasonally decorated Calera & Shelby train; visit Santa for a festive photo opportunity on the Museum grounds; board the narrow-gauge steam train for a quick trip down Candy Cane Lane on the Shelby & Southern Railroad; and enjoy all the activities on the museum grounds. It’s all included with your Christmas Experience tickets!
Join Alabaster for their 2023 Christmas Parade. The theme for Alabaster's parade this year is Christmas at the Movies! During the parade, the city will be accepting new toys to donate to children who may not receive gifts this year. Shelby Emergency Assistance and Alabaster will be distributing donated toys throughout the city and neighboring areas. You can drop toys off here: Saturday, Dec. 2: Restore parking lot, 128 Market Center Drive, during and immediately following the Parade. Monday, Dec. 4: Lobby of Alabaster City Hall, 1953 Municipal Way, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM. Monday, Dec. 4: Lobby of Alabaster Parks and Recreation Office, 200 Depot Street, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

Visitors will have the opportunity to eat, drink, and be merry at the American Village, experience vignettes of 18th century life with costumed historical interpreters, and see beautiful Christmas decorations adorning the 188-acre campus and its more than 20 historically-inspired buildings. This annual Christmas event is usually a sellout, so reserve your seats early! The cost is $40 per person, and includes lunch, a guided tour through the vignettes, and extra time to explore the Village on our own.
