Tinglewood Festival

Montevallo is often recognized for the carvings of Tim Tingle in Orr Park. Each year thousands of visitors come to the park to enjoy these tree carvings. Over 50 carvings line the walking path along scenic Shoal Creek. It is a perfect venue to host a festival celebrating wood carving and other wood working crafts. This is the genesis for the Tinglewood Festival. The Tinglewood Festival is a free (no admission charge) one day event held in Orr Park annually in September. This Festival is a signature event for the City of Montevallo.

Are you ready to embark on a thrilling two-wheeled journey under the opulent glow of the moon? Gear up for an unforgettable experience as we invite you to join our 2024 Winter Ride, embracing the crisp, cold air and the magic of the night sky. We’ve been hosting glow rides since 2016, but this will be our only winter ride until next winter, so don’t miss it! Join us for a leisurely night ride around Montevallo. Our journey takes us through the town and off the main roads (no one is left behind). The sun will set while we ride - so decorate your bike with light! We will end with socializing. The Social Entrepreneurship & Sustainability class at The University of Montevallo is hosting the Dash and Dine fundraising event for The Arc of Shelby County and The Boys and Girls Club of Montevallo on April 13, 2024. Dash and Dine is a 5k, Fun Run and cooking competition. Competitors will battle it out in categories like BBQ, Wild Game, International, and Dessert. And the best part? The Alabama Cycling Association (ACA) is a 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to get more kids on bikes. We are a youth development organization with a commitment to redefining what a youth sports program is all about. We provide coaching and camaraderie to students who love mountain biking. Our goal is to help middle school and high school kids achieve both competitive and non-competitive cross-country mountain biking skills in a safe and enjoyable manner.
