Join us in beautiful downtown Montevallo for an evening of live entertainment! Each event will feature a different musician at Owl's Cove Park (737 Main Street). This family-friendly, free admission event is the perfect way to kick off your weekend. Bring a chair or picnic blanket, grab dinner to-go from your favorite downtown restaurant, and make yourself at home on Main Street! Live music starts at 6:30 PM. April 26: Mother May I is a precise-sounding musical group playing their mix of Motown, R&B, Classic Rock, 80’s Retro, Old School Funk, current Top 40, and everything in-between. This Birmingham-based band performs with a flair, intensity and stage presence that is all their own! Sponsored by Dr. Bobby F. Shunnarah. May 31: Common Ground combines smooth three-part harmony with upbeat energy. With a set list of over 300+ songs, we bet they’ll play one of your favorites! Sponsored by Alabama Custom Trailer and RV. June 28: DreamCatcher is an experienced group of acoustic musicians focused on tight three-part harmony vocals in a wide variety of music from the 60's up to today. According to Chairperson of the Helena Diversity and Inclusion Board Dominga Gardner, the Helena United Festival will feature cooking demonstrations, a stick dancing performance and a martial arts demonstration, with a pending agreement with a bag pipe group. “We are using this event to bring all the cultures together, all different walks of life together, just to be able to learn something new from another culture,” Gardner said. “And also to embrace those that are different from us.” Read more at: https://www.shelbycountyreporter.com/2024/03/14/helena-diversity-board-to-host-helena-united-festival/
