Did you know that Mi Pueblo Supermarket presents "Hope to Laugh: A Comedy Show and Benefit for the Community of Hope Health Clinic" will be the first time CHHC has hosted a special event in the fall? Did you know that this will be the first time a comedy show has been featured at the Shelby County Arts Council, Song Theater? Come be a part of history and have a great time! 3rd Annual Spring Fling Family Food Truck Fest

Montevallo Main Street, Impact Montevallo, and DRUM the Program invite you to experience our 3rd Annual Spring Fling Family Food Truck Fest! From noon to 6 PM on Saturday, April 27, join us on Island Street at the Orr Park Pecan Grove (940 Island Street) to grab lunch or an early dinner from one of our featured food trucks--to be announced! This fest will be fun for the whole family. Activities include: • Drum classes led by DRUM the Program's Abou Sylla (www.syllamusic.com) from 1-1:30 PM and 3-3:30 PM • Inflatable Bounce House • Obstacle Course • Face Painting • Music • Main Street Coloring Sheets • And more! This event is free admission. It is also "rain or shine." If the event must be cancelled due to inclement weather, we will announce via our social media. * Winner of 2022 Excellence in Promotion Award from Main Street Alabama *

Farmers’ Trade and Market Day

Shelby County Soil and Water Conservation District presents Farmers' Trade and Market Day: Homemade, Handmade, Homegrown & Farm Raised Vendors and Food Trucks will be at the Jones Agricenter Building in Columbiana - 56 Kelley Lane (next door to the Exhibition Center). Food trucks will have Tamales, Street Corn, Pork Skins, Cake, Bread Pudding, Cheesecake, Apple Butter, and much more! The Community Educational Garden has been planted and will host educational sessions on gardening. Enjoy the fun!

2nd Annual Juneteenth Celebration

The City of Montevallo’s Parks & Recreation Board will host their 2nd Annual Juneteenth Celebration from 10 AM – 1 PM at George Dailey Park on Wednesday, June 19. This free-admission event will feature a program, refreshments, children’s activities, and community organizations. Juneteenth became a federal holiday in June 2021. It is a national celebration of freedom: the anniversary of June 19, 1865, the day enslaved people in Texas learned they had been set free for two years. The event will kick off at 10:00 AM. Retired educators Dr. Annie McClain and Mr. Johnny McClain will be the Mistress and Master of Ceremonies of the Program. Other program participants will include Mayor Rusty Nix, Ashley Evans, youth from local churches, City Council District 2 representative Lelia Horton Mitchell, and Parks & Recreation Board Chair Pamela Smith. Special recognitions will include a posthumous honoring of longtime former Parks & Recreation Board member Johnny Holsombeck, as well as DRUM the Program, and Girl Scout Troop 205.
