The Social Entrepreneurship & Sustainability class at The University of Montevallo is hosting the Dash and Dine fundraising event for The Arc of Shelby County and The Boys and Girls Club of Montevallo on April 13, 2024. Dash and Dine is a 5k, Fun Run and cooking competition. Competitors will battle it out in categories like BBQ, Wild Game, International, and Dessert. And the best part? The NTRP National Championships for 2024 will have singles and doubles events for three age divisions: 18+, 40+ and 55+ and a mixed doubles event for the 18+ division. The 40+ Men/Women’s Doubles (3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5) event is being held at the Pelham Racquet Club in Shelby County, Alabama.
The Alabama Cycling Association (ACA) is a 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to get more kids on bikes. We are a youth development organization with a commitment to redefining what a youth sports program is all about. We provide coaching and camaraderie to students who love mountain biking. Our goal is to help middle school and high school kids achieve both competitive and non-competitive cross-country mountain biking skills in a safe and enjoyable manner.
This spectacular 5k and 10-mile trail race runs along the “biological heart” of Alabama’s longest remaining free-flowing river, the Cahaba, and is the primary annual fundraiser for Cahaba River Society's Shane Hulsey CLEAN Environmental Education Program. When: Saturday, April 20, 2024. Registration opens at 7am and the race begins at 8am. Where: Cahaba River Park, 2793 River Road, Helena, AL 35080 Located in the Cahaba River Park in Shelby County, the race is one of the most unique running experiences in Alabama. Aid stations will be provided at mile three and mile seven (for the 10-mile race). All participants will receive lunch, a t-shirt, and a swag bag after the race, and prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category.

The Montevallo Arts Collaborative hold Arts Fest in Orr Park on the third Saturday in April. The Montevallo Arts Collaborative promotes and coordinates the arts in the Montevallo area.

Montevallo Main Street, Impact Montevallo, and DRUM the Program invite you to experience our 3rd Annual Spring Fling Family Food Truck Fest! From noon to 6 PM on Saturday, April 27, join us on Island Street at the Orr Park Pecan Grove (940 Island Street) to grab lunch or an early dinner from one of our featured food trucks--to be announced! This fest will be fun for the whole family. Visit Lovelight Farm on Sunday, April 28 for a farm tour, plant sale and live music from Dead Wood, a local Grateful Dead Tribute Band. Entry is $5 per person and $10 for families. Proceeds will go towards the purchase of a larger propagation greenhouse for our educational programming and for the expansion of the farms production. Lovelight Farm is a biodynamic and organic farm that focuses on soil health and sustainability of the land. They are a Certified Naturally Grown farm located in Wilsonville, Alabama.
Shelby County Soil and Water Conservation District presents Farmers' Trade and Market Day: Homemade, Handmade, Homegrown & Farm Raised Vendors and Food Trucks will be at the Jones Agricenter Building in Columbiana - 56 Kelley Lane (next door to the Exhibition Center). Food trucks will have Tamales, Street Corn, Pork Skins, Cake, Bread Pudding, Cheesecake, Apple Butter, and much more! The Community Educational Garden has been planted and will host educational sessions on gardening. Enjoy the fun!
