The exhibit will closing permanently at 5:00 pm on Thursday, June 29th. This exhibit is free and currently open to the public. Join the city of Montevallo as The American Village hosts "Independence Day" starting at 11:00 am! The American Village will be providing a day full of hands-on exciting activities for all ages! Some activities will include: Cornhole Jenga Face-Painting Food Trucks Music Fireworks Admission will cost $5 to the public. Veterans, active military and children ages 4 and under will be free.
Kick up your boots and take a journey by train into the Wild West! Watch the onboard and outdoor Western theatre reenactment story about a runaway, a gang of ruffians, a father’s pursuit and see if law and order can be reestablished onboard the train! The train ride and outdoor theater performances down the tracks last approximately 75 minutes. Food vendors, lawn games and photo opportunities will be available on the Museum grounds, as well. To add to the fun, the Shelby & Southern Narrow Gauge Steam Railroad will be fired up and ready to take your family on a ride behind an authentic steam locomotive!
