City of Pelham Annual Fireworks Show “Fire on the Water”

Come and join the city of Pelham for their annual fireworks show on Monday, July 3rd at Oak Park State Mountain! Annual passes will be valid from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Non-pass holders need to pay regular entrance fees until 5:00 pm. Starting from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Pelham residents will have the opportunity to enjoy a special rate of $10 per vehicle by presenting proof of residency. Other visitors will be charged a rate of $15 per vehicle. We encourage carpooling!! Both cash and card payments are accepted at both gates. The Fireworks show will begin at 9:00 pm!

Independence Day Hosted by The American Village : Montevallo

Join the city of Montevallo as The American Village hosts "Independence Day" starting at 11:00 am! The American Village will be providing a day full of hands-on exciting activities for all ages! Some activities will include: Cornhole Jenga Face-Painting Food Trucks Music Fireworks Admission will cost $5 to the public. Veterans, active military and children ages 4 and under will be free.

Movies Under the Stars – Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile

It will be several nights of cinema and fun at Pelham City Park as the Pelham Parks and Recreation department will hold the Movie Under the Stars event. This event will offer fun, family friendly games and activities, and a movie. July's special showing is Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile.   

Wild West Day

Kick up your boots and take a journey by train into the Wild West! Watch the onboard and outdoor Western theatre reenactment story about a runaway, a gang of ruffians, a father’s pursuit and see if law and order can be reestablished onboard the train! The train ride and outdoor theater performances down the tracks last approximately 75 minutes. Food vendors, lawn games and photo opportunities will be available on the Museum grounds, as well. To add to the fun, the Shelby & Southern Narrow Gauge Steam Railroad will be fired up and ready to take your family on a ride behind an authentic steam locomotive! The Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum is located just off I-65 in Calera, Alabama between Birmingham and Montgomery.

Tinglewood Festival

Montevallo is often recognized for the carvings of Tim Tingle in Orr Park. Each year thousands of visitors come to the park to enjoy these tree carvings. Over 50 carvings line the walking path along scenic Shoal Creek. It is a perfect venue to host a festival celebrating wood carving and other wood working crafts. This is the genesis for the Tinglewood Festival. The Tinglewood Festival is a free (no admission charge) one day event held in Orr Park annually in September. This Festival is a signature event for the City of Montevallo.
