The Heardmont Park walking trail is approximately one mile in length with other links that help to intra-connect the 74-acre family recreational park. The creek side walking trail is lighted and follows along the scenic Cahaba Valley Creek, and is handicap accessible. The trail, which also has serves as the host course for local high school cross country meets, meanders throughout the facility. In addition to play meadows and a children’s playground, the park features nine baseball fields, three soccer fields and two tennis courts. The athletic facilities have hosted numerous regional and national youth sporting events.

Also, included within the park is a public track situated inside a 6,000-seat football stadium. The facility has hosted numerous track events including the Alabama State High School Championships.
