Alabama Tree Climbers Competition - sponsored by the Alabama Urban Forestry Association

Friday, December 6

This event is sponsored by the Alabama Urban Forestry Association. Tree climbing competitions simulate working conditions of arborists in the field. Competitors perform five different events during preliminary rounds to qualify for the championship. Each event tests a competitor’s ability to professionally and safely maneuver in a tree while performing work-related tree-care tasks in a timely manner

Friday December 6th:
Sign-ups and gear check and walk through 1pm-4pm
Nighttime Ascent: 4:30-7:30 PM

Saturday December 7th
6:45 AM-all judge’s absence techs report to their ring.
7:15- Mandatory climber check-in
7:45- Completion of setup, climbers report to their event
8:15-Competition begins with the sounding of the horn.

Saturday Preliminary Events
1. Belayed Speed Climb
2. Aerial Rescue
3. Throwline
4. Work Climb
Preliminary awards ceremony after all events are completed.

Sunday December 8th
Masters Challenge
7:30-All judges and techs report to the event ring
8:00-Mandatory climber check-in
8:30-Completion of setup, competitors report to their event
9:00- Competition begins with sounding of the horn.
2:00- Masters Awards Ceremony
