Run for Kids Challenge - 10K, 50K & 12 Hour Race

Saturday, May 4

The races will start and finish at the Cedar Pavilion (same location as Previous years) at the South end of Double Oak Lake, the swimming and canoeing lake. The pavilion is located at the end of Terrace Drive. This year the run will start on the Lake Trail heading clockwise around Double Oak Lake. About 2/3 of the way around the lake, runners will switch to the Rattlesnake Ridge trail and follow it all the way around back to the Cedar Pavilion. Each loop will be about 6 miles. There will be a cookout following the 50K and 12 Hour races. 100% of race proceeds go to Smile-A-Mile and additional donations would be greatly appreciated.

Weekend Schedule
Friday, May 3rd, 4:30 to 6:00 PM - Packet Pickup and Late Registration is at the Cedar Pavilion at Oak Mountain State Park, location of the race start. We will send out Run for Kids Car Passes via email after registration closes. Print the pass and place it on your dash and you will not be charged Friday afternoon. It is only for Friday Afternoon. If you plan to register at the park Friday afternoon, tell the park attendant you are going to packet pickup and you will not be charged
Saturday, May 4th, 6:00 to 6:45 AM Race Packet pickup and Late Registration at the Cedar Pavilion (start/finish location) at Oak Mtn. State Park. The Cedar Pavilion is located at the far south end of Double Oak Lake, the swimming and canoeing lake. Follow Terrace Dr. to its end and park in the large parking lot to the left. (DO NOT go up the Peavine Falls Road.)

Saturday, May 4th, 7:00 AM Start of the 50K, 12 Hour and 10K Trail Races

Additional Information: Oak Mountain State Park had a entry fee of $ 5.00 per person to enter the park on weekends. This fee in not included in the entry fee so please bring CASH to get into the park. Runners MUST enter the park through the southwest entrance Saturday Morning, the entrance just off I-65 at Hwy 119 (Cahaba River Rd.) The northeast Entrance does not open until 7:00 AM so don't go there, you will miss the start.
